Abstract

Questo testo mira ad analizzare l’evoluzione dell’immagine di OMA in tre fasi. La prima riguarda il loro fascino per i media digitali - anche in forma costruita, come lo ZKM di Karlsruhe (1989) e la Video Bus Stop di Groningen (1991) - e un primo tentativo di controllo nella copertura di Villa dall’Ava (1992).

Il secondo periodo copre le conseguenze critiche di SMLXL (1995) e il disagio di Koolhaas nei confronti della sua immagine pubblica, fino alla pubblicazione di Content (2004), l’ultima grande monografia dello studio. Infine, il primo numero di Domus d’autore nell’aprile 2006, curato da Koolhaas/AMO, segna un’apparente transizione verso la liberazione della sua architettura dal dominio dell’autore e dallo sguardo dei media attraverso strumenti collaborativi su Internet e la voce degli utenti.
